Just a quick post today, as you may have heard unfortunately I am unable to return to run Sunday classes.
I would just like to thank everyone for their support over the past year and hope you all enjoyed our two hours of sometimes hectic arty madness.
Thank you all.

Sunday 28th June 2015
Well, I had to rearrange the class due on 21/6/15 due to a clash of dates with fathers day and visiting relatives.
So here is what we will be making on Sunday 28th June.
Its a teapot notepad holder, I will put some details on the main home page on how it was made as soon as I can, but, for now, I'm off finish the ironing.

Update Tuesday 16th June 2015Today was very chilled and the lovely ladies were that busy quilling the circles that the time pasted rather quickly. I had two sets of card lined up to do, unfortunately we only managed one but it was a nice one. Here are a few of cards, I did forget to take the pictures and so ran around at last minute beginning for the ladies to take them out of their bags. Maybe running around is a slight exaggeration, a few did escape though, sorry if yours isn't below.
Sorry this one didn't want to rotate either I will keep trying.
They are all lovely, well done ladies. --------------------------------------------- Tuesday 16th June 2015(Holiday Cover)
For my last Tuesday Holiday cover, we will be making these two lovely summery cards.
One is based around a bucket and spade by tattered lace and the other was a request by a couple of the ladies to do a touch of quilling.
Hope you can join us.

Thursday 11th June 2015(Holiday Cover)
Today we had our second steampunk day, everyone got stuck into cutting, distressing, waxing and layering.
This was all helped along by an extremely fantastic tasting home baked cake to celebrate a birthday. I'm not telling fibs, this cake was light, fluffy and yummy.
Back to our projects, here are a few photos of the cards the lovely Thursday ladies made.
I'm sure you will agree they are fab, I must thank the lovely ladies for coming to the class even though their regular teacher is on holiday. Hope you've had a great time Suzy Q.
Same place/time next year.
See you all soon Thursday ladies.

Tuesday 9th June 2015 (Update)
Today the lovely ladies took full advantage of composing a card from a die cut pack and a few even made a background of their own to use.
Here are a few of the results.
---------------------------------------------
Sunday 7th June 2015 (2nd Update)
Here is another product of Sundays class, one of the lovely ladies also goes to the Tuesday class and bought along a finished card.
Well done its brill!
I'm so impressed with your background.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sunday 7th June 2015 (Update)
Today I was joined by five lovely ladies to make a steampunk card.
The background was created by first running plain paper through a key embossing folder, this was coloured with two distress inks of their choice. The first lighter shade was applied to the entire piece, the second was very gently run over the top so as to pick up the key image.
This was stuck into position and a die cut in black using Sue Wilson Portuguese collection die was glued on top.
The steam punk image was cut out and mounted on 3d foam ready for application to the card.
Die cut cogs were dipped into an embossing ink pad and into embossing powder heated to melt the powder and re-dipped into the ink pad then into a different colour powder to create a multi coloured cogs.
Steampunk cogs were printed on A5 paper and cut out to add more detail. Ever thing was stuck down and here are the wonderful results.
They all turned out fabulously and even started a second one to finish off at home. Well done ladies.

Thursday 4th June 2015 (Update)
Today we had lots of fun, yes it was a little messy but we managed as you do.
For some reason the heat and bond didn't want to work and
after building it up and saying how good and easy to use it was, I felt majorly disappointed by the outcome. The lovely ladies didn't complain tho and we carried on regardless using gold UTEE.
When I got home I tried it out again and guess what it worked.
Very, Very strange! All I can put it down to is the flakes, I think perhaps the flakes were small and maybe mixed with some even smaller scrubbed off bits it didn't want to adhere.
Anyhow lesson learned.
Here are the photos of Thursdays class.
They are all fab!
Well done ladies, love the different colours and backgrounds produced.

Sunday 7th June 2015
Today we are going Punk! Steam Punk that is.
Don't panic, below are a couple of ideas I have been playing with.
We shall be doing one, or two of the smaller cards (if we have time) but with a twist of making our own background.
The die is Sue Wilson's Portuguese set, it's fab so many elements and ways to use, layer and combine them.
The images are Debbie Moore Steam Punk I'm not going to tell you fibs you will have to cut them out, they do not require any fancy cutting tho.
A bit of gluing here and there, maybe a touch of embossing all good fun.
Hope you can join us.

Mini Album and Note Box Update
Today we had a play with sticky embossing powder and flakes, believe me it's sooooooo much easier to use with the flakes than glue and it shows up all the fine detail in a stamp.
Here is what the lovely ladies made.
I'm sure you will agree they are all fab! Well done ladies, I can't wait to see how Suzy Q finishes off her album. She did make the flowers and butterflies but isn't keen on them, which is fine as the aim was to try out the sticky embossing power, no pressure Sue.
UPDATE:26/5/15 Sue sent me this picture of her project, it's fab. Well done Sue!
Here are a couple finished project from two weeks ago.
I think they are all great, thank you for bringing them back in to show us all the super finished pieces. Mentioning no names can you guess who went off on a tangent.
I love them all and if I can inspire people to develop and add their own take on a project all the better.
See you all soon.

Sunday 10th May 2015
Today was messy, just a tad tho. We had fun creating a lovely colourful background with paints followed by a bit of stamping and touch of sewing to add depth and interest to the box that we had made.
As usual in my classes we ran out of time and I had to send the ladies away with some homework, not a lot, just a tiny bit of cutting out and sticking.
This is how far we got.
I'm sure you will agree so far, so good.
Well done everyone.
I will add more finished photos when the ladies return in two weeks time, no pressure ladies.

Today was a quiet day so I decided to join in with the lovely ladies and took the opportunity to make one of my mothers day cards.
Here are the results.
Super job ladies.
This one was mine, in class it started out as a thank you card, when I got home hubby suggested I should have made a mothers card so with a tiny adjustment mission complete.
We also tried to use colours outside our comfort zone, they all turned out really well.

Sunday Sue now on Wednesdays too!
Wednesday 11th February 2015
Today we will be making a male type card, initially made for hubby's birthday, but as we or I struggle with this concept I decided to share my creation with others.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sunday 8th February 2015
We all had a fab time today, lots of messy funny and maybe a bit too much cutting out. However the cards that were finished looked great, maybe a little to adventurous for two hours.
A drink and a chat added to the ambience of our Sunday mornings.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wednesday 4th February 2015
Today we made this card using gold/silver megaflakes.
This was my example, it was a take on a card which was made this time last year, during one of my first classes.
The lovely ladies had missed this particular class and not wanting to disappoint them I said yes, why not.
Here are their super cards!
Fantastic results ladies.

11th January 2015
Today we had a big messy sort of Sunday.
We used Spetrum Noir Aquatint inks to create a background and used masks and black ink to create a focal point.
Here are the superb results.
I even managed to take a photo of everyone's project this week, I'm sure you'll agree they are all stunning.
Well done everyone.
------------------------------
Next Class Sunday 11th January 2015
The next class was inspired by a photo taken out of my bedroom window at 8 am one school morning.
The colours were very intense but you get the aim of the photo.
Here are a couple of samples.
The aim of the class this week will be to experiment with the new Spectrum Noir paints/inks using different paper/card to see the reactions. We will be using them as both a spray and in a more traditional way with a paint brush to create the background washes. We will be using masks/stencils to create a focal point which can be used to make a card providing we have enough time. LOL

Sorry this post is late!
What can I say Christmas has been and gone in a manic last minute flurry of gift buying and wrapping.
Here are the lovely decorations that everyone made using the melt pot they all came out wonderfully!
With no burns from the very hot melt pot.

Gift Bag Class Sunday 30th November
A little bit of water colouring with distress inks.
A tad of sparkle and ribbon,
good company and a conversation.
What more could you possibly want on a Sunday morning.
This is what the lovely ladies made this week, some projects were taken home to finish off, as we do tend to run out of time. Everyone did a fantastic job of colouring the Santa stamp especially as no one had coloured in this way before.
Well done everyone.
------------------------------
Next Class Sunday 30th November 2014
Today we will be making a Christmas Gift bag project.
---------------------------------------------

Sunday 19th October
Well we all had a super speedy 2 hours today.
With a productive outcome of 7 lovely finished mini albums.
Here they all are.
I'm sure you will all agree they are fabulous.
Next Class Sunday 19th October 2014
What began as a home project has turned into a class project,
fingers crossed we can get it done in 2 hours.
--------------------------------------------------------
Sunday 5th October 2014
Today we made a Christmas card, yes, I know, the big "C" is getting closer. That means approx 8 to 9 weeks to make cards then get them posted, good luck to everyone who like me hasn't really started.
Anyhow the lovely ladies at MA Crafts all had a messy morning of
inking, embossing, sticking, stamping and just enjoying creating a card with other like minded people.
This is what we were going to make using a poinsettia die, however when I went on my pre-class hunt around the shop I discovered they were sold out, I substituted the poinsettia die for a rather nice solid tree and an ivy die cut in glitter card for a bit of sparkle.
This is what we made today!
Here is my version.
These are the lovely ladies versions.
Everyone did a fantastic job doing their own thing with the basic kit.
Well done everyone.
See you all soon.
---------------------------------------------------------
Next Class Sunday 21st September 2014
7th September 2014
This card was based on a balloon patchwork canvas, this was adjusted to a card for the class and changed to used birdcages, which worked really well and look, well fab!!!
Today in our two hour class we made a patchwork card.We used double sided tape for quickness on the background, we used cut and dry to pull paint from the edges and mute the colours of the papers.
We stamped birdcages onto man size tissues, along with a few swirls.
Slap it on was used to attach the tissue to the card by using our fingers to put a layer of slap it on then the tissue then another layer of Slap it on, this dried quickly. the die cut birdcages, branches and lace were glued into place (3d foam gave a little lift to the birdcage, so it didn't lie completely flat).
Two birds were stamped onto watercolour paper with versamark black ink and coloured using distress inks as watercolour paints.
The birds were cut out and added to the card with 3d foam. A touch of card candy was added too.
Lace and a bow was added to finish.
Here was my version. Well it would be had I remembered to take a photo. Oooops!
These were the lovely ladies cards, all a little different and all looked fab. Many apologies as I know we had seven ladies and only six pictures (think one went to the same place that mined did as i was convinced I'd taken them all).
Bye for now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, I've taught a couple classes now at Mountain Ash Crafts,
and I must say I have enjoyed doing it tremendously.
We have two hours once a month on a Sunday to produce a finished article, and for my first class I slightly underestimated the length of time it takes to complete a project. It was a little time consuming.
Here is a picture of what we were making.
I did forget to take pictures of the class, duh! as I was consumed in giving all my attention to the ladies and it was my first class (have I said that before). All the ladies were lovely and didn't mind one bit at having to finish off at home.
However, a couple of the ladies bought their finished projects back for me to see and take pictures of course.
I think You'll agree they are great!!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was based on a canvas which I'd done for a different challenge, get me, anyone would think I was challenge diva. Not true tho, I was feeling extremely brave when I entered. Actually I think it was around the same time that I approached the lovely Sandra and Rowan.
Anyhow, here is how we got on.
The ladies stamped, painted, distressed, bent wire, stuck the whole thing together and had a wonderful, messy time. The sentiment was added later as I only had happy birthday with me.
Must buy more sentiments.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have more photo's no stopping me now of a class we did with pans pastels.
This was my attempt, I must admit I hadn't used much of this product, but i took it away and came up with this little number.
Using masks and clear embossing ink for the pans to adhere to.
Using music paper for a background and creating die cut flowers coloured with distress inks,
All this combined with a little greenery to complete the card.
Again All different , and all wonderful.
Well done ladies.
