Yes, it's been a while.
Christmas has been and gone birthdays too!
Which brings me to my latest project using my Birthday gift.
I have a Melt Pot, why I didn't ask for one sooner I do not know.
I have been melting, moulding, pouring, waxing and all manor of other things, such fun and extremely addictive.
So this is what I made.......
I began with a flat canvas board, painted it with a pale blue paint to prep it. Then to add texture to the board I mixed a slightly darker shade of blue with grunge paste and pushed it though a few different masks. I mixed a small amount of two more darker shades of blue paint with water in tiny spray bottles, sprayed the board and let the colours run down.
I made the flowers the previous day with die cut shapes from dictionary pages and plain photo copy paper stamped with script. Using spray inks and distress pads to add colour and shading. The leaves were stamped with paint then using the script stamp in black to add a bit of interest to the leaves.
Using my new melt pot I made black utee flowers, hearts, birds and frames. ( Ok I went a bit melt pot crazy). In the bottom left side of the canvas I had some left over utee which I poured onto a leaves texture plate, I just painted this to blend in with the back ground and add interest.
Then I stamped images onto tissue paper and yes you guess it, using my melt pot with a project pan I melted some bees wax and painted wax onto the top left and bottom right sides. Placing the tissue paper over the wax and adding a little more wax to seal the tissue into place, at this point I also used a heat gun to melt the wax and spread it across the canvas. After a short time I buffed up the wax which added a sheen to the piece.
After adding a few bits of webbing and lace and a wooden embellishment I stuck everything down.
There you go, finished.
(A big thanks to Hels Sheridan too, as a few days before my birthday I had recorded her show on create and craft with her using the melt pot.)
I'm going to attempt to link with the Sunday Stampers week292-Orange Crush. Wish me luck I've only linked once before.....
Bye for now.
